The launching of the Look East Policy (LEP), a brainchild of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, marked a monumental shift in Malaysia’s economic, development and foreign policy. Japan embraced the LEP, and it eventually became the de facto symbol of Malaysia-Japan relations.
However, is the rationale behind the formation of the LEP still relevant today?
Join Tun Dr Mahathir and the Japanese Embassy in Malaysia to discuss the LEP’s legacy, and how stakeholders can re-energise, enhance and rejuvenate Malaysia-Japan relations to ensure it remains enduring and significant.
